The primary focus of WCA2008 is improved patient
care through the ongoing education
of anaesthesiologists from all over the world.
We are currently applying to a series of recognized
bodies for CME accreditation for WCA2008.
- Australian and New Zealand College of
Anaesthetists
The ANZCA MOPS (Maintenance of Professional
Standards) has awarded WCA the following :
Meeting : Code 111, 3 CME points per hour.
Medical Workshop sessions : Code 700,
2 CME and 1 QA points per hour.
The WCA 2008 approval number for this activity
is 07036.
- European Accreditation
UEMS (The European Union of Medical Specialists)
The 14th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for
Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists.
Number of hours
Following the approval from the UEMS Section and Board of Anaesthesiology, the EACCME has granted
27 European CME credits (EACCME) to the congress.
The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net
EACCME credits are recognised by the American Medical Association towards the Physicians Recognition Award (PRA).

The scientific program of The 14th Congress of the Anaesthesiologists has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM
- South Africa
The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
has awarded WCA2008 a maximum
of 6 CPD (Category 2) per day; this will include
a number of ethics points.
You will receive a certificate stating the above
points (or your accrued points if you leave early)
on the last day of WCA2008 when returning your
digital name badge. |
