Draeger Medical Innovative Medical Decision Support Systems
In the complex environment of the Acute Point of Care, Care Givers are faced with more and more variables and parameters
from the patient monitored by medical devices. It is vital to base clinical decisions on the right set of patient data
and to know the interdependences of those data points. The ‘Enhance Anesthesia Insight – Innovative Medical Decision
Support Session’ is therefore focussed on the latest development of systems that are meant to support and speed up decision
making as well as monitor intelligent information rather than data.

During the session you will receive an insight into two
examples of decision supporting tools:
- an analyzing and predicting view on anesthesia drug effects
- a new way of displaying comprehensive monitoring data in an easy to read, graphical way. |

Airway Management Session
The Airway Management Session contains three Parts.
The objective in the first two parts is to show you
indications, recognitions and theoretical solutions.
Additionally, we will demonstrate how and support
you in developing an Algorithm. Using
especially-recommended instruments, we aim to show a
practical solution for every environment and
circumstance. The third part will be hands-on, where
you can use all discussed and especially-recommended
instruments. The Airway Management Session is the
result of the fellowship between Cook, Karl Storz,
LMA, Philips and Tyco with the aim of finding
optimized solutions. |

- Industrial Symposium
For many years, neuromuscular blocking agents and
their reversal agents have assisted
anaesthesiologists all over the world to make
anaesthesia safe and effective. New developments,
however, are around the corner and exciting research
in the field promises new possibilities. During the
symposium these exciting new developments will be
presented and there will be an opportunity to
discuss how these new developments may impact the
practice of anaesthesiology in the near future. |

Trade Exhibition
To add a distinctive African flavour to the exhibition and to allow all attendees to locate
stands easily, we have divided the exhibition into five key zones. These are :
The Elephant Zone - The Leopard Zone - The Lion Zone - The Rhino Zone - The Buffalo Zone
The outdoor refreshment area at the rear of the exhibition will be in a bistro style and will
serve refreshments all day. The exhibition also houses attractions such as two refreshment
areas and the business centre (which offers internet terminals, photocopying services
and a meeting point).
