“WCA 2008 will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, and a substantial part of its excellent scientific programme will cover topics relevant to intensive care medicine. I would encourage fellow European intensivists to take this opportunity to update on the latest research and clinical data in intensive care and anaesthesiology, while benefiting from the chance to meet colleagues from across the world, and to explore the beautiful surroundings, traditions, and cultures of this very special part of South Africa. This is an opportunity not to be missed!”
