Long Street's historic Metropole Hotel has been
reinvented into a boutique hotel. The Metropole,
which has seen stylistic changes through the decades,
has adopted a plush new contemporary interior. It
can be described as Afro-Glam. The Metropole also
features, Veranda and an upmarket bar, the M-Bar
& Lounge & the new M Café. Its luxury guest rooms,
which occupy the two floors above the restaurant
and bar area epitomise comfort and elegance. Special
features in the guest rooms include soft white French
linen, travertine marble bathrooms and European-style
singular comfy-beds. Technological features include
special universal electricity outlets, internet
modem portholes for laptops, satellite enabled television,
and individual remote controlled power air-conditioning.
Most rooms feature a Juliet balcony, ideal for observing
bustling Long Street. The rooms are large and the
corridors are wide, which are unchanged from the
original hotel floor plans.
