Exhibition Concept

The exhibition hall is located on the ground floor of the CTICC in Halls 2, 3, 4 and 4b. Delegates enter the exhibition hall from the main concourse. This main concourse is the effective hub of the CTICC with meeting rooms, poster area, sponsored seating areas and registration area all linking in to it. Please consult the floor plan in this section for an overview of the main delegate flow.

To add a distinctive African flavour to the exhibition and to allow delegates to locate stands easily, we have divided the exhibition into five key zones. These are:

The Buffalo Zone
The Elephant Zone
The Leopard Zone
The Lion Zone
The Rhino Zone

The exhibition features a network of main aisles which are 4m wide and will be used by delegates mainly to move between different zones. These main aisles will have a different coloured carpet from the standard aisles which are 3m wide. The main aisles also lead to the outdoor refreshment area at the rear of the exhibition. This area will be in a bistro style and will serve refreshments all day. We expect this to be a popular feature of WCA2008.

The exhibition also houses attractions such as two refreshment areas and the business centre (which offers internet terminals, photocopying services, abstract download stations and a meeting point).

Exhibition space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure your preferred location and avoid disappointment, you are strongly urged to book early. We will do our utmost to respect any preference that you may have but do reserve the right to allocate space according to our best judgement. Should you wish to avoid being located next to a specific competitor, please clearly indicate this on the Participation Contract.

We are pleased to announce that we are looking into providing all delegates and each exhibitor with a networking device. This device is in the form of an electronic name tag and will provide the bearer with a personalised agenda for WCA2008 and will allow the bearer to send and receive messages with any delegate and company. Furthermore, the device allows for attendance tracking, audience response, real-time lead capture and broadcast messaging. We believe that this device will greatly facilitate networking and a positive information exchange.

Important: Please note that we are currently looking into the technical and cost issues with providing this device. As such, and at the time of writing, we are not able to confirm that it will be employed at WCA2008. It is our clear intention to provide you with significant networking and business opportunities. Should circumstances prevent us from using such a device, we will look to issuing all delegates with barcode name badges and all companies with one barcode reader. Naturally, the pricing of certain relevant sponsorship opportunities will be amended should we use a barcode name badge rather than an electronic one. Please note that the price of exhibition space will not change.
